The support can cover all disciplines. All activities supported by the Foundation must be related to the Baltic Sea Region and Eastern Europe. S\u00f6dert\u00f6rn University is grant administrator for research projects and conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our forms of support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our recurring calls for proposals are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two- and three-year projects and postdoctoral projects \u2013 annually<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smaller grants: research networks, conference and publication grants \u2013 twice a year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grand projects \u2013 every other year&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For a table with an overview of the forms of support see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ostersjostiftelsen.se\/en\/researchers\/application-for-research-funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">application for research funding<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Two- and three-year projects<\/strong> \u2013 conduct research individually or in a group<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Two- and three-year projects provide support for an individual researcher or a smaller group of researchers who themselves formulate the research problem, method and implementation of the project and perform a well-defined research task within a limited time. The grant amount is a maximum of SEK 6 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Postdoctoral projects<\/strong> for those who have recently obtained a doctoral degree<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Postdoctoral projects can be applied for by an individual researcher with a doctoral degree, up to three years after the doctoral degree or by a doctoral student who will have completed a doctoral degree before the start of the grant period. The project period is two years and the salary funds can cover 80\u2013100 percent of a full-time annual position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Grand projects<\/strong> for an extensive and challenging research task<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Grand projects are undertaken by a group comprising at least four researchers, with a joint and coherent research task. Grand projects are characterised by a strong international element in the research group. Within the framework of a grand project, funding may be applied for postdoctoral researchers and doctoral students. The project period is four to five years and the grant amount is a maximum of SEK 25 million. Calls for grand projects are announced every second year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Research networks<\/strong> support the creation or maintenance of already established network<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding is applied for by a group of researchers where a majority of the participants preferrably comes from research environments outside Sweden and can also include doctoral students. The amount of grant is a maximum of SEK 250,000 per network for a maximum of one year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Conference grants<\/strong> for knowledge exchange<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding can be applied for to organise conferences with a clear relevance to the Baltic Sea Region and\/or Eastern Europe. The aim is to promote internationalisation and knowledge exchange between Swedish and foreign researchers and to contribute to the dissemination of research on the Baltic Sea Region and Eastern Europe. The amount of grant is a maximum of SEK 250,000 per application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Publication grants <\/strong>for the dissemination of results from funded projects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Researchers with grants funded by the Foun\u00addation have the opportunity to apply for support for publication of research results. Immediate open access is a requirement for all publications.
