Its focus is comparative and it takes on a\nlong-term perspective. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if there has\nbeen vast theoretical and empirical development in entrepreneurship and firm\ndynamics in the past few decades, there are still several gaps \u2013 empirical,\nmethodological and theoretical. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research on firm\ndynamics \u2013 entry, growth, exit \u2013 in and across industries as well as in the\nmacro economy, has also often employed short periods or cross-sectional\napproaches. This is believed to obstruct competing and\/or complementary\nexplanations such as the influence of economic cycles; institutional conditions\nand change, or structural transformation. The project focuses on variations in\nentrepreneurship and business activity across time and place. Our project\ncontributes by studying different economic and institutional contexts. A\ndemographic approach makes it possible to distinguish the general and universal\nfrom those particular cases (be it firms, industries, economies, or specific\nperiods and events) that deviate, stand out, or are \u201cunique\u201d, regardless of time\nand place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In collaboration\nwith researchers from mainly Central and Eastern Europe that work with the same\nquestions as we do, the project assumes a comparative approach. The project\nprovides an opportunity to generate new knowledge about the business dynamics\nin a more general context of other economies with distinct historical and\ninstitutional conditions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-636","project","type-project","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
